Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The new plot details for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day have surfaced ahead of the film’s release. Many plot rumors have circulated on social media since production began. Now, what appears to be an almost legitimate plot leak has surfaced on 4chan.
The recent plot details have been circulating and appear to match the film’s trailers and TV spots. Here’s the leaked plot:
The main villain is Tramell Tillman‘s William Metzger, the director of the Department of Damage Control.
Sadie Sink is Jean Grey. She wants revenge on Metzger for her sister’s death and has been body-jacking people to carry out her plans.
The opening montage features Spider-Man fighting several supervillains, including Scorpion, Boomerang, Tarantula, and Ramrod, who all work for Tombstone.
Peter is still missing MJ and Ned and has been spending most of his time fighting crime to avoid dealing with his difficult life, until his powers begin to mutate.
Jean body-jacks Scorpion to attack a DODC convoy. Spider-Man stops him, and Scorpion is arrested. During the fight, Spider-Man enters a “predator mode” and brutally beats Scorpion, frightening him.
Peter runs into Ned at the coffee shop where they used to hang out and learns that MJ and Ned have moved back to New York after graduating from MIT.
Peter follows Ned and crashes his and MJ’s housewarming party, pretending to be their neighbor, Maynard, where he discovers that MJ has a new boyfriend.
MJ and Ned remember that Spider-Man saved them several times. Ned has developed a Spider-Tracker in hopes of finding him and thanking him.
Peter returns home, collapses, and awakens the next day inside a web cocoon, from which he emerges with organic webbing and enhanced senses.
Peter asks Bruce Banner, who is teaching at Empire State University, for help. Banner develops a microchip based on his own Hulk-inhibiting bracelet to suppress Peter’s mutation.
Peter is tipped off by Detective Jean DeWolff, his friend in the NYPD, that Tombstone has hired The Hand to intercept the DODC convoy transporting Scorpion to prison and rescue him.
DeWolff also tips off the Punisher, who attacks the convoy to kill Scorpion while Spider-Man holds off The Hand. Spider-Man fends off both.
Jean body-jacks an old lady to attack the convoy in a stolen armored car. Spider-Man stops the armored car, but Jean escapes.
Spider-Man is immune to Jean’s telepathy, and Metzger manipulates him into helping the DODC by claiming that Jean is a dangerous criminal.
Jean warns Spider-Man to stay out of her way. Spider-Man discovers that she plans to body-jack the Hulk to destroy the DODC.
Spider-Man chases Jean as she body-hops, but his mutation gets in the way. Jean then threatens MJ.
Spider-Man convinces MJ to come with him and asks the Punisher to protect her while he deals with Jean. Later, MJ convinces the Punisher to help Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and the Punisher fight Jean and the Hulk at the DODC offices. Jean loses control, and the Savage Hulk emerges, destroying everything in his path.
Spider-Man uses Shocker’s gauntlet to knock out the Hulk, reverting him back into Bruce Banner.
Metzger arrives and captures Jean and Banner. Spider-Man learns that Metzger had tortured Jean until she escaped and began targeting him. Spider-Man is then shot.
The Punisher takes Spider-Man to the hospital, where Claire Temple operates on him. The doctors choose not to remove his mask.
Spider-Man is in critical condition and removes the microchip, embracing his new powers so he can heal faster and rescue Jean and Banner.
Spider-Man visits Yelena Belova at a bathhouse to get information. She makes him strip down to his underwear and keep only his mask on before agreeing to help him.
Peter modifies Ned’s Spider-Tracker app to locate the DODC’s secret prison, where Metzger is holding Jean and Banner.
Spider-Man and the Punisher attack the DODC prison and battle The Hand, whom Metzger has hired to protect the facility. They rescue Jean and Banner. Jean has the chance to kill Metzger, but Spider-Man convinces her not to.
Metzger is arrested and faces criminal charges for his actions. Jean offers to restore MJ’s and Ned’s memories, but Peter ultimately declines. Jean then leaves to find others like herself. Spider-Man and the Punisher later team up to take down Tombstone.
Post-credits scene: Ned’s Spider-Tracker app reveals that Spider-Man has disappeared from Earth.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds. Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Marvin Jones III as Tombstone.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
