Directed by Reeves from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film is set during the winter following the flooding of Gotham City. Bruce Wayne/Batman investigates another case that further explores the corruption and division within the city.

Filming is taking place in the UK, with several leaked set images and videos shared from different locations, including Glasgow, Liverpool, and London. Below is a recent set image from St. Paul’s Cathedral, where Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne is escorted by police following a large protest on the cathedral’s steps.

In a recent interview, Pattinson said The Batman: Part II will feel different from the first film. Pattinson praised Matt Reeves’ new script, calling it “amazing.” He said reinventing Batman in the first film was challenging, while the sequel takes the character in “another totally different direction.”

Pattinson said, “[Matt Reeves] just wrote this amazing script. I mean, with the first one, it’s difficult to reinvent Batman as this new thing and then [with Part 2] to go in another totally different direction. I remember just looking at the playback on set and thinking it looks different from the first one.”
