A potential new synopsis for Godzilla X Kong: Supernova has been revealed, teasing some details about the film’s story. The synopsis reportedly introduces a cataclysmic cosmic force that awakens and begins draining energy from Earth’s core.
The situation is described as a “cosmic nightmare,” with Godzilla and Kong reportedly forced to navigate a dangerous new landscape as they face this mysterious threat.
The ticket-booking website District has updated its synopsis for Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, potentially revealing new details about the film’s story.
The updated synopsis reads: “When a cataclysmic cosmic force awakens to drain the planet’s core energy, Earth’s fragile peace is shattered. Godzilla and Kong must navigate a dangerous new landscape to survive a cosmic nightmare.”
Recently, DK and Legendary Publishing announced The Art and Making of Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, featuring unseen concept art, creature designs, storyboards, and exclusive interviews. The artbook is set to be released on March 30, 2027.
Here’s the official description of the artbook:
“Featuring exclusive interviews with the titans behind the film, unseen concept art, dynamic creature designs, and storyboard sequences, witness the creative force behind the Monsterverse’s biggest chapter yet.”
Bandai Senior Marketing Manager Justin Cavender has teased that a toyline for Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is in development.
Cavender said, “There’s a lot to look forward to. You know, we’re a company that focuses on the pop culture space. Look at things ahead, like Godzilla Minus Zero coming out in November, right? Godzilla x Kong: Supernova coming out next year.”
Following the events of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the world is shaken once again: a deep, rhythmic signal appears in various regions, seemingly emanating from places long considered legendary.
As the first clues emerge, Godzilla and Kong find themselves in a perilous situation. Their powers pull them in different directions, but it soon becomes clear that the signal is not only awakening Titans but also disrupting a larger order.
While Godzilla follows the clues in nature and Kong searches for answers in the ruins, teams of scientists and field researchers attempt to decipher the signal’s origin.
Directed by Grant Sputore, with a screenplay by David Callaham and Michael Lloyd Green. It continues the story of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) and stands as the sixth MonsterVerse film, the 40th Godzilla movie, and the 14th King Kong installment.
