Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday.
Bucky Barnes will receive another major upgrade in Avengers: Doomsday.
The new international poster for Avengers: Doomsday reveals that Bucky Barnes has custom Wakandan vibranium gauntlet-shields (bucklers). These are the same shields that King T’Challa gave to Captain America in Avengers: Infinity War to help him fight Thanos’ army.
According to a scooper, “Shuri will hand Steve Rogers’ triangular shield from Avengers: Infinity War to Bucky Barnes in Avengers: Doomsday.”
During a recent interview with Decider, Sebastian Stan revealed what Bucky Barnes fans can expect from Avengers: Doomsday. He described the film as potentially “heartbreaking” in many ways.
Stan said, “I haven’t seen the movie, and I don’t know how it turned out. I’m sure it’s going to be probably heartbreaking, in a lot of ways. We’ll see who makes it to the next level.”
Stan also believes Bucky Barnes’ story in the MCU is not finished yet. He feels there is still more to explore with the character.
“I never have any idea about what they want to do, but I still feel there’s something about this character that hasn’t totally been completed, and I think [Marvel] knows it.”
Stan addressed fans’ concerns about Bucky Barnes’ fate in Avengers: Doomsday during a recent interview with EW.
Stan said, “We have to kind of learn how to deal with uncertainty more than to not. It’s fun to speculate, but you want to be surprised, no?”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron, Stephen McFeely, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.
“Universes collide, and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Robert Downey Jr., who led the Avengers series as Iron Man, makes a shocking return as the evil scientist Doctor Doom. Familiar heroes like Steve Rogers and Thor are joined by a new generation of heroes, hinting at the largest assembly in history.”
