On X, a scooper has shared a plot description for Star Wars: Starfighter. Here it is:
Set five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the galaxy is still rebuilding after the fall of the First Order.
Kade Auberon (Gosling) is a former war pilot who now lives alone and stays away from conflict. His life changes when a 15-year-old boy (Gray) shows up and reveals that he is Kade’s nephew.
The boy is Force-sensitive and comes looking for his uncle after a family tragedy. According to the leaks, his mother (Amy Adams) has died. Before her death, she gives him her lightsaber and tells him to find Kade. She had lost contact with Kade years earlier.
Kade is not a Jedi, but he becomes his nephew’s protector. They go on a dangerous mission while two enemies chase them. One is a powerful warlord (Matt Smith) connected to the arms trade and the galaxy’s criminal underworld. The other is a mysterious mercenary (Mia Goth) who is also Force-sensitive and uses a lightsaber. However, her real intentions may not be what they seem.
During their journey, Kade and his nephew try to reach Adaria, a planet reportedly home to a Jedi academy. Force-sensitive young people can train there. The planet is said to have green landscapes, plenty of water, and buildings inspired by Asian and Polynesian cultures.
Belle (Eva Mendes) is rumored to be an alien who is hundreds of years old. She has a romantic connection with Kade and may play an important role in his story.
When Kade and his nephew finally reach the Jedi academy, their safety is threatened. The mercenary played by Mia Goth finds the academy and faces Aaron Pierre’s character in a confrontation that reportedly includes a lightsaber duel.
The story focuses on Kade and his nephew, who barely know each other. As they go on this adventure, they must learn to trust each other. While the boy discovers his connection to the Force and the Jedi world, Kade must face his past and decide how far he will go to protect his family.
Directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Levy, with Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen serving as executive producers.
