Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer are set to star in an untitled assassin series, described as ‘Thelma & Louise‘ meets ‘Jack Ryan.’
According to The Hollywood Reporter, notable developments include the series ‘Cape Fear,’ reimagining classic Universal thrillers and produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Despite initial discussions about delaying, Universal Content Productions (UCP) and its stakeholders decided to proceed, emphasizing a strong pitch and valuable intellectual property. Launched in mid-November, the project triggered a bidding war, with HBO and Max putting forward offers.
Another standout project is an untitled Hannah Waddingham-Octavia Spencer assassin series described as ‘Thelma & Louise meets Jack Ryan.’ Additionally, a Graham Moore thriller featuring Amy Adams has also generated substantial interest, attracting multiple offers.
Waddingham will next appear in “The Fall Guy,” releasing in the United States on May 3, 2024, by Universal Pictures. Additionally, “The Garfield Movie” is scheduled for release on May 24, 2024, and the untitled eighth “Mission: Impossible” film is slated for May 23, 2025, both by Paramount Pictures.
