Bring Her Back is directed by Danny and Michael Philippou and co-written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. The film marks the Philippou brothers’ second collaboration with A24. Centered on a brother and sister who uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.
The film has scored 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, 7.5/10 on IMDb, and received a B+ from CinemaScore.

Set in the sleepy outer suburbs of Adelaide, Bring Her Back opens with a gut punch and rarely lets up. After their father dies suddenly, teenage Andy (Billy Barratt) and his legally blind sister, Piper (Sora Wong), are placed in foster care—just three months before Andy would have been legally old enough to care for her himself. Enter Laura (Sally Hawkins, in a wildly unhinged performance), a disturbingly chipper caregiver who lives alone in a large, isolating house and gives off the kind of energy that starts off quirky and ends up psychotic.
The cast of Bring Her Back includes Barratt as Andy, a guilt-ridden and traumatized 17-year-old boy; Wong as Piper, Andy’s visually impaired younger half-sister; Hawkins as Laura, a grieving mother; Jonah Wren Phillips as Oliver/Connor Bird, Laura’s foster son; Sally-Anne Upton as Wendy, Andy and Piper’s social worker; Stephen Phillips as Phil, Andy and Piper’s deceased father; and Mischa Heywood as Cathy, Laura’s deceased 12-year-old daughter.
