The filming for A24’s upcoming WWII spy thriller Enemies, starring Austin Butler and Jeremy Allen White, is set to begin in Chicago in June 2025, with a 30-day shooting schedule.
Here are the plot details for Enemies:
Set during WWII, Enemies follows an American POW who escapes from a concentration camp and races toward the Allied border, pursued by a relentless Nazi soldier.

The film is written and directed by Henry Dunham, best known for his 2018 debut The Standoff at Sparrow Creek. Enemies marks Dunham’s long-awaited return and his second feature film.
Deadline reported that Shōgun Emmy winner Anna Sawai and Drive My Car star Hidetoshi Nishijima have joined the cast alongside Butler and Allen White.
According to ReelChicago, Enemies will have a $25 million film budget. The film is produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen under their Square Peg banner, alongside A24. Alejandro De Leon will also serve as a producer, with Josh Bachove executive producing.
Dunham is represented by Anonymous Content and attorney Stephen Clark.
Butler is represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and the law firm Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern, while Allen White is represented by WME, Entertainment 360, and the law firm Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.
Enemies will hit theaters in 2026, by A24.
