Filming for Amazon Prime’s Blade Runner 2099 series, starring Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh, has wrapped. The limited series is set 50 years after Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 and is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2025.
The production began in early May 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic, and wrapped on December 29, 2024.

Set in Los Angeles 2099, Blade Runner 2099 follows Cora (Schafer), who has lived her entire life on the run, a chameleon forced to adopt numerous identities. To secure a stable future for her brother, she assumes one final identity and is forced to partner with Olwen (Yeoh), a Blade Runner who is confronting the end of her life. The two are pulled into a widening conspiracy that poses an existential threat to a city fighting to be reborn.
The cast of Blade Runner 2099 includes Yeoh as Olwen, a Replicant facing the end of her life; Schafer as Cora; Dimitri Abold; Lewis Gribben; Katelyn Rose Downey; Tom Burke; Maurizio Lombardi; Daniel Rigby; Guest; Johnny Harris; Amy Lennox; Sheila Atim; and Matthew Needham.
Silka Luisa is the showrunner and executive producer of Blade Runner 2099, alongside Ridley Scott, Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, Alcon’s President of Television Ben Roberts, David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger from Scott Free Productions, Tom Spezialy, Richard Sharkey, Michael Green, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, and Isa Dick Hackett. Steven Johnson serves as co-executive producer, while Jonathan van Tulleken (Shōgun) will direct the first two episodes.
The show is Alcon’s first Blade Runner TV series since it acquired the rights to the franchise in 2011. It has also financed and produced Blade Runner 2049.
Blade Runner 2099 will premiere on Prime Video in 2025.
