Angelina Jolie is set to star in Oscar-nominated director Pablo Larraín’s next direction debut biopic about famous opera Singer Maria Callas. The film follows the tumultuous, beautiful, and tragic story of the life of the world’s greatest opera singer Maria Callas, relived and reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris.
Pablo Larraín, who is best known for her direction debuts Jackie and Spencer will be directing the pic with the screenplay written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. In a statement, Larraín said “Having the chance to combine my two most deep and personal passions, cinema and opera, has been a long-awaited dream. To do this with Angelina, a supremely brave and curious artist, is a fascinating opportunity. A true gift.”
