A new look at DC’s Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock, David Krumholtz, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Jason Momoa, has been revealed by EW.
Supergirl is an action story with a western style, like John Wick and True Grit, but with superheroes.
A young alien girl named Ruthye (Eve Ridley) wants justice for her family. She looks for the man who killed them, Krem (Matthias Schoenaerts). She teams up with Supergirl, who is Superman’s cousin.
Kara (Supergirl) also has her own reason to help. Krem poisons her dog, Krypto. Without the cure, Krypto will die in three days.
In an interview with EW, director Craig Gillespie says Supergirl will feature five different spoken languages.
Gillespie said, “There are five languages in this film, and Kryptonian is one of them—all original languages. So they had to learn a language. There are some major scenes, with minutes and minutes of dialogue that they’ve had to work through. You really need actors of that caliber.”
Kara and Eve travel to many planets in Supergirl. There are about nine different worlds, and each one has its own language. They travel a lot in the story.
Supergirl, DC Studios’ newest feature film to hit the big screen, will be in theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures, starring Milly Alcock in the dual role of Supergirl/Kara Zor-El. Craig Gillespie directs the film from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.

DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing the film, which is based on characters from DC. Supergirl is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is executive produced by Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther. Behind the camera, Gillespie is joined by director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer Neil Lamont, editor Tatiana S. Riegel, costume designer Anna B. Sheppard, visual effects supervisor Geoffrey Baumann, and composer Ramin Djawadi.
Supergirl will hit theaters in the United States on June 26, 2026, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
