The X-Men universe in Avengers: Doomsday is confirmed to have survived multiple incursions, with each one pushing their world to the brink of destruction.
To save their universe, they must travel to another Earth during an Incursion. They fight that Earth’s heroes and destroy that world to protect their own.
According to scooper MyTimeToShineH, “The X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday have survived countless incursions, each one nearly wiping out their universe. They’re exhausted, broken, and have sacrificed everything. Every Incursion forces them to send their members to another Earth to battle its defenders and erase that universe from existence before it destroys theirs.”
In a recent leak, we reported that the X-Men universe in Avengers: Doomsday is a variant timeline where events similar to the original X-Men trilogy and Days of Future Past have occurred. The universe we see is a variant world that appears to be a utopia for humans and mutants. However, that peaceful reality exists because of major sacrifices made in the past.
Marvel Studios has officially released the X-Men trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, which shows a first look at Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Cyclops. Magneto also hints that everything may be coming to an end. He says, “Death comes for us all, that’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t are you prepared to die, the question is who will you be when you close your eyes?”
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
