Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is reportedly set to feature some heartbreaking moments in its opening scene, as fan-favorite Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and his universe face an incursion. During this time, he also fights Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool.
According to scooper James Mack, during the opening battle of Avengers: Doomsday, Maguire’s Spider-Man fights Deadpool, Wolverine, and Magneto. During the confrontation, he pleads with them and even mentions that he has a daughter.
Spoilers: In the opening scene, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Wolverine, Deadpool, and Magneto reportedly appear, while Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus are not involved. Deadpool and Wolverine fight Spider-Man, with Wolverine directly participating in the battle. Meanwhile, Magneto reportedly drops massive bombs on the city.
The leak also claims that Maguire’s world is completely destroyed. This could connect to the shot in the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer in which Professor Xavier looks toward a bright light and shields his face.
A flashback in Avengers: Doomsday reportedly shows the remaining X-Men members being killed during the incursions.
James also shared, “Jane Foster will return for the final battle in Avengers: Doomsday, and the group of Deadpool variants will appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.”
Here are some of the ideas reportedly planned for Avengers: Doomsday in 2024 that ended up being scrapped:
- The Council of Reeds.
- Variants of the Avengers.
- Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau as protagonists.
- Variants of Doctor Doom.
- Earth-838 instead of Earth-10005.
- She-Hulk as a member of the Avengers.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and written by Michael Waldron, Stephen McFeely, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers.
