Tenoch Huerta, who is returning as Namor in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, revealed that he found out he was in Doomsday only 5 hours before the cast was announced.
In a recent interview with La Resolana con El Capi on TV Azteca, Huerta shared that every character in Doomsday will have a smaller role, as the movie features around twenty-plus characters, making it a large ensemble cast. He described the film as “more condensed” compared to previous Avengers films.

Huerta said, “There are about twenty-something characters involved in the story… It’s more condensed because they have to give space to all the characters and the different universes.” He added, “This makes it a much more simpler role, in terms of time and energy of making a film like this.“
Huerta revealed that he found out about his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe just hours before the official cast announcement. Marvel gave the green light for his return around midnight, while the cast reveal livestream began at 5:30 a.m. He told that his U.S. agents were unsure about the news, making the last-minute revelation both shocking and “cool.”
Huerta said, “We were waiting on the green light [from Marvel], and my agents in the U.S. were not sure about the news [of my return].” He added, “They practically told us around 12 at night, and at 5:30 in the morning, the [cast reveal] livestream started, and they told us, ‘Hey, the news is about to drop.’ It was surprising, and it was cool.“

For Marvel Comics fans, Huerta has reportedly filmed scenes with Vanessa Kirby for Avengers: Doomsday. He recently described her as “a great and spectacular coworker.”
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely, Avengers: Doomsday is now being co-written by McFeely and Michael Waldron, the creator and head writer of the Loki series. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
The official cast members of the film include Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Huerta as Namor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost.
