Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution rights to the wildly hysterical comedy ‘Not Another Church Movie,’ starring Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, Kevin Daniels, Vivica A. Fox, Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guy, Kyla Pratt, Lamorne Morris, and Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke. Directed by Johnny Mack, this is a comedy of biblical proportions. It’s not another romance. It’s not another drama. It is not another church movie.
‘Not Another Church Movie’ is a comedy tailor-made for the big screen with its blend of irreverence, which will surely create a cult following among comedy fans. Featuring an all-star cast, musical numbers, outrageous antics, and side-splitting one-liners, Taylor Pherry’s chaotic life will unfold for audiences this May with Daniels as “Pherry,” Foxx in the role of “God,” and Rourke as “The Devil.”
‘Not Another Church Movie’ is a wild ride through the fabulous world of Taylor Pherry (his P is silent), an ambitious young man given a holy mission from God Himself: to tell his family’s stories and inspire his community. His only concern? His family and community. What he doesn’t know is that the Devil has plans of his own.
Briarcliff will release the film in theatres nationwide on May 10, 2024.
The announcement was made by Briarcliff’s CEO, Tom Ortenberg.
“A huge credit to Johnny Mack, James Michael Cummings, and the entire cast and crew for sculpting a story that is as uproarious as it is engaging,” said Ortenberg. “There is no doubt that once Not Another Church Movie hits theaters in May, audiences will be doubled over in their seats.”
“This film was one of the best, funniest experiences in my life. Working with Johnny Mack, Jamie Foxx, Vivica A Fox, Kevin Daniels, Mickey Rourke, and the entire cast was a dream come true,” said Cummings. “All I know is that the day I met Johnny Mack was the day I knew we were gonna make Not Another Church Movie.”
‘Not Another Church Movie’ is a Monty the Dog production, produced by Michael Cummings and former Warner Bros. executive Jim Cardwell. The executive producer is Valerie McCaffrey.
The deal was negotiated by Tom Ortenberg and Jessica Rose on behalf of Briarcliff Entertainment and by Jim Cardwell on behalf of the filmmakers.
