The new concept art for Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, and Tahar Rahim‘s superhero suits in ‘Madame Web‘ has been revealed by concept artist Imogene Chayes.
On Instagram, Chayes shared the suits featuring Merced, O’Connor, and Rahim.
Isabela Merced as Anya Corazon (Spider-Women)
Chayes wrote, “It’s our last gal! Concept art for Anya Corazon is played by the prolific Isabela Merced (with whom I happen to be working on her current project). Ngila Dickson again wanted it to be bold and graphic. Since, as many of you have correctly pointed out, they’re on screen for such a short time, we wanted to make sure these suits had an impact!”
Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin (Spider-Women)
Chayes wrote, “Concept art for Mattie Franklin, played by Celeste O’Connor! She was such a fun character to work on. I had a particularly fun time working with Ngila to flesh out the style lines for this suit, as well as giving her a cheeky attitude.” See the image below.
Tahar Rahim as Ezekiel Sims
Chayes wrote, “Last one, and that’s a wrap on Madame Web concept art week! Here’s our concept art for Ezekiel Sims, played by Tahar Rahim. Olotting out these intricate style lines was doozy but very satisfying. Costume designer Ngila Dickson wanted them to evoke a binding effect.”
Directed by S. J. Clarkson from a screenplay by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. The film is the sixth installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film stars Dakota Johnson as Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Cornwall, O’Connor, Merced, Rahim as Ezekiel Sims, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet.
According to the film’s plot: Meanwhile, in another universe… In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures—if they can all survive a deadly present.
‘Madame Web’ premiered in the United States on February 14 and earned $52 million worldwide, but it’s expected to be a box-office disappointment.
