Creative Director Christopher Metzger, of Marvel’s toy lines, revealed his unused packaging design for Sam Raimi‘s canceled ‘Spider-Man 4‘. The film’s plans were officially scrapped by Sony Pictures in January 2010 due to creative differences.
Metzger shared the packaging design for ‘Spider-Man 4’ on his website’s portfolio. See the image below.
Raimi directed the Spider-Man trilogy: ‘Spider-Man’ (2002), ‘Spider-Man 2’ (2004), and ‘Spider-Man 3’ (2007). Plans for a fourth installment were scrapped due to creative differences with Sony Pictures. Tobey Maguire played Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, and Rosemary Harris as Aunt May.
Kevin Feige and Tom Holland prefer a grounded approach for ‘Spider-Man 4,’ while Sony Pictures wants it on a grand scale. They are considering bringing back Maguire and Andrew Garfield after their successful reunion in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’
Maguire returns as Spider-Man, and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ with a vibe similar to ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’
