Darren Aronofsky’s crime thriller Caught Stealing, starring Austin Butler, will begin filming on September 9, 2024, in New York. The Sony-developed thriller is based on the books by Charlie Huston, who also adapted the screenplay.
What is the Plot of Caught Stealing?
Caught Stealing follows Hank Thompson (Butler), a burned-out former baseball player who is unwittingly plunged into a wild fight for survival. The story is set in the criminal underworld of downtown New York City in the 1990s.
Zoë Kravitz, Regina King, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, Will Brill, and Bad Bunny will also star in the film, with Deadline recently confirming that Griffin Dunne has joined in a supporting role.
Produced by Aronofsky alongside his Protozoa Pictures partner, Ari Handel. Aronofsky also has an Elon Musk biopic in development at A24. He previously collaborated with A24 on his Oscar-winning film The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser.
Caught Stealing is set to hit theaters in 2025.
