James Gunn’s ‘Superman‘ is currently filming in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. We also have new images of David Corenswet and Gunn on the set. Corenswet is seen wearing a black robe over the Superman suit, revealing the collar around his neck. The scenes show action sequences in Metropolis, near the Daily Planet.
According to reports from Cleveland, they are filming the first day of shooting. Metropolis police cars, a military tank, and a pile of boulders have filled Superior Avenue.
Recently, Gunn shared the official first-look image of Corenswet in the Superman suit with his trunk.
The film stars Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
Gunn confirmed that he respects old Superman movies and that the script he made was definitely a sincere superhero movie. The film will be the DC Universe’s first film and the third installment of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, created by Gunn and Peter Safran. We already reported that the film is shot entirely in IMAX.
The updated logline for ‘Superman’ reveals that Superman, now a cub reporter in Metropolis, sets out on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.
‘Superman’ is scheduled to theaters on July 11, 2025.
