The filming of David Lowery’s ‘Mother Mary’ is scheduled to begin in June 2023 and last until the end of July 2023. The filming location is planned in German, funded by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the DFFF.
The film is written and directed by David Lowery. The project is a collaboration between A24 and Topic Studios, with A24 reuniting with Lowery after their previous project, “Green Knight.” Produced by Lowery, Toby Halbrooks, and James M. Johnston alongside Jeanie Igoe of Homebird Productions and Jonas Katzenstein, Maximilian Leo, and Jonathan Saubach of Cologne-based augenschein Filmproduktion.
In the film, Charli XCX and Jack Antonoff will write and produce original music for Anne Hathaway to perform. Hathaway’s character in the film is a pop star.
In 2023, Anne Hathaway will be busy with several projects. Her most recent film, “Eileen,” premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. She is also starring in the Neon film “Mother’s Instinct” alongside Jessica Chastain. Additionally, she has the Amazon film “The Idea of You” set to release this year.
Michaela Coel, known for her award-winning TV series “I May Destroy You,” has made history as the first black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series. She recently appeared in Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” In 2023, she is set to star in the Amazon series “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” alongside co-creator, executive producer, and co-star Donald Glover.
