Hurray! It’s been two years for DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. They have shaped the DC universe under the “Gods and Monsters” phase. The projects they announced remain intact, with updates provided on upcoming developments.
The current DC Studios plan includes two live-action DC films and one animated film per year, along with two live-action and two animated series per year on Max. However, this year, only one series has been confirmed—Peacemaker Season 2, which will premiere in August.

The studio has greenlit five theatrical films, is producing three live-action series, and has five animated series in development. They have also released a documentary that won BAFTA and PGA awards. Gunn and Safran’s main goal is to keep DC’s brand consistent and avoid past issues, like having different versions of Superman in Smallville and Man of Steel.
During the Friday press conference at Warner Bros. in Burbank, CA, Safran said (via Deadline), “We’ve unified the brand, greenlit five theatrical films, made three live-action series, and are producing five animated series.” Safran added, “We’ve also acquired and distributed a BAFTA- and PGA-winning documentary.”
