The first trailer for DC’s Blue Beetle has been dropped. First of all, need to mention that the trailer visuals are more incredible than recent DC movies.
In the trailer, Xolo Maridueña‘s Jaime Reyes is a recent college graduate searching to find his purpose in the world. Suddenly, a Scarab unexpectedly picks Jaime as its symbiotic host, and Jaime transforms into Blue Beetle. Watch the trailer below.
According to the plot synopsis:
Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Blue Beetle.
The film stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, Bruna Marquezine as Jenny, Belissa Escobedo as Milagros Reyes, George Lopez as Rudy, Adriana Barraza as Nana, Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio, Damián Alcázar as Alberto Reyes, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, Raoul Trujillo as Carapax the Indestructible Man, Harvey Guillén, Carlos Ponce, Jon Z, and Mercy.
Blue Beetle will hit theaters on August 18, 2023.
