Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is now almost confirmed to appear in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday. Although his role has been teased by multiple insiders and scoopers, Marvel has not yet officially announced Deadpool’s casting.
Most recently, pieces of fabric from Deadpool’s costume for Avengers: Doomsday have seemingly gone up for auction on iCollector.
According to leaked plot details, Deadpool’s appearance is reportedly set to take place at the beginning of Avengers: Doomsday, where he fights Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man during an Incursion. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is also reportedly part of the scene.
Although Deadpool’s appearance is expected to be a brief cameo, he is said to have a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars.
At this year’s Marvel SDCC panel, Reynolds appeared wearing Deadpool’s black-and-gray X-Force suit instead of his classic red suit. During the panel, Deadpool asked when they were shooting Avengers: Doomsday, only to be told that the movie was already “in the can,” meaning filming had already been completed.
The hype for Avengers: Doomsday is already reflected in its advance ticket sales, which have reportedly topped $55 million domestically. International sales are scheduled to kick off on September 28, 2026, while a new trailer is also reportedly on the way.
In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Joe Russo said that Avengers: Doomsday is “unlike any movie that’s been made in the MCU” so far.
“It’s tonally very different. It’s very surprising. I think the audience is going to be very surprised when they see the movie.”
Director Anthony Russo says the full cast of Avengers: Doomsday has not been revealed yet.
“The cast is so large, and we’ve announced some of the cast,” he said. “I get confused myself over who we’ve announced, so I have to just slow down.”

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes are set on a deadly collision course, facing an existential threat unlike anything they have ever encountered.
The film is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters across the United States on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
