Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, said that they are making the UK sets of Spider-Man: Brand New Day feel like New York City.
Back in August 2025, filming for Brand New Day took place in Glasgow as a substitute for New York City. The streets transformed areas like Bothwell Street with US road signs, yellow taxis, and American flags.
In a recent interview with WHO LET US OUT, Cretton talked about making the UK sets of Spider-Man: Brand New Day feel like New York City.

Cretton said, “We do care very deeply about trying to capture the heart of that city and have it play a real character in the movie.”
When asked about when the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer would be released, as the film is nearing its release, Cretton said, “It’s so funny how people really want a trailer” for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He added, “It’s gonna come. It’s gonna be really good when it comes. It’s coming.”
According to Cornucopia Events, the UK premiere for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will take place in London on July 24, 2026.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ Watson and Ned Leeds, and Tony Revolori as Eugene “Flash” Thompson.
Sadie Sink joins the cast alongside Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman have also been cast in undisclosed roles, while Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan from Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Marvin Jones III has been confirmed to play Tombstone. Additionally, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova will appear in the movie.
Here’s the new synopsis for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
After the world has forgotten his name, Peter Parker (Holland) begins a new chapter in his life — balancing college classes, part-time work, and his responsibility as New York’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But when a mysterious force begins to unravel the city from the inside out, Peter finds himself caught between powerful enemies, old legacies, and unexpected allies. As shadows from the past creep into his present, he must redefine what it truly means to be a hero — on his own.
The film is produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters and IMAX on July 31, 2026.
