The first look at Emilia Clarke in Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion‘ series has been revealed by Vanity Fair. Clarke is playing Talos’ daughter G’iah in the series. Secret Invasion is set to premiere on June 21, 2023, and will consist of six episodes. See the images below.
In Secret Invasion, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncovers a conspiracy to install double-agents into positions of power around the world: shapeshifting green-skinned extra-terrestrials known as Skrulls, who can perfectly simulate any human being at will.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Clarke said the fact that G’iah is living in the shadow of a powerful parent makes the situation even more dire—especially when it’s a leader who is seen to have failed. She added, “She’s a refugee kid who’s had Talos for a dad, you know what I mean? Maybe the fact that we didn’t know he had a kid up until this point tells you everything you need to know about their relationship.”
Clarke continued, G’iah is also pretty much over her dad’s friend Fury and his fellow human beings. “These people promised a lot of stuff a long time ago, and not a lot has happened. So understandably, a certain amount of resentment has been built.”
“There’s a lot of emotions that live within her, and there’s a lot of confrontational aspects to her character that have come from circumstance. You understand why she has the feelings that she does.”
Secret Invasion series is based on the 2008 Marvel Comics storyline written by Brian Michael Bendis. Created by Kyle Bradstreet for Disney+. The series stars Samuel L.
