Elizabeth Olsen and Alicia Vikander have been confirmed as the lead stars in Fleur Fortuné‘s upcoming film, ‘The Assessment.’ The script is co-written by Neil Garfath-Cox, Dave Thomas, and John Donnelly and is set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by climate change.
The story takes place in a future society where every aspect of life is tightly controlled. The plot revolves around a couple whose lives come under intense scrutiny when a female assessor is tasked with determining whether they are worthy of having children. The filming begins this summer at MMC Studios in Cologne.
The film is co-produced by Number 9 Films, led by Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen in the UK, and Germany’s Augenschein Filmproduktion. The film has received substantial funding of €1 million from the Cologne regional film fund Filmstiftung NRW. Capleight, a German distributor, is already on board for the film’s release.
Olsen recently starred as housewife Candy Montgomery in the HBO Max limited series ‘Love and Death,’ which is now streaming on Max.
Vikander recently starred in the miniseries ‘Irma Vep’ in 2022. Also, she appeared in the film ‘Firebrand,’ which premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 2023. ‘Firebrand’ was selected to compete for the prestigious Palme d’Or award at the festival.
Fleur Fortuné is a French film director and visual artist. She has gained recognition for her innovative and visually striking work in the fields of film, music videos, and commercials. Fortuné has collaborated with various renowned artists and brands.
