The filming for Danny Boyle‘s ‘28 Years Later‘ is currently underway in Northumberland, England. Recently, the first-look images of Jodie Comer and Edvin Ryding were leaked. They were spotted on set filming a scene where Comer’s character is chased by terrifying zombies. Ryding is playing the role of E. Sundqvist, a Swedish soldier.
The world has changed so much, and ’28 Years Later’ will bring back Cillian Murphy, returning as Jim. Comer’s look is completely unrecognizable; her face looks so tired, all for the sake of the movie. Comer excels on stage, TV, and film, seamlessly disappearing into her roles without relying on prosthetics or over-the-top hair and makeup tricks. This is why she is considered one of the best actresses in the game right now.
In the Boyle-directed film, the screenplay is co-written by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. The film also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, and Erin Kellyman. Plot details are kept secret, but it will be a sequel to both ‘28 Days Later‘ (2002) and ‘28 Weeks Later‘ (2007).
During Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast (Via: ComicBook.com), Comer mentioned how the original movie, combined with some of the new, exciting elements that Boyle is bringing to the table, will make ’28 Years Later’ worth the wait.
Comer said, “I think there’ll be a lot of — just seeing what they’re doing with the camera work, I think there’ll be a lot of new.” Comer added, “It’s him, it’s Danny, and I think he’s constantly trying to find new ways and I think, just seeing where they’ve gone with it and all the new additions and explorations, I think people are going to be very excited.”
The film is produced by Boyle, Garland, Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, and Bernie Bellew. It is a production of Columbia Pictures, DNA Films, BFI, and Decibel Films.
