Who Is Blade In Marvel Comics?
In Marvel comics, Blade, a.k.a. Eric Brooks first appeared in Tomb of Dracula #10 in 1973 and was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan.
More about Blade in Marvel Comics:
- Blade is a human-vampire hybrid, with all the strengths of a vampire but none of its weaknesses. He gained his vampiric powers after his mother was bitten by a vampire while giving birth to him, and a doctor saved his life by injecting him with a serum that gave him immunity to vampire bites.
- Blade is a skilled fighter and martial artist, and is also an expert in the use of various weapons, particularly swords. He is also known for his use of throwing knives, guns, and other weapons.
- Blade is often portrayed as a loner, and has a tendency to work alone rather than as part of a team. However, he has occasionally teamed up with other Marvel superheroes, such as Spider-Man and the Avengers.
- Blade is sometimes referred to as the “Daywalker,” because he is able to walk in the sunlight without being harmed. This sets him apart from other vampires, who are typically vulnerable to sunlight.
- Blade has a personal vendetta against vampires, as his mother was killed by a vampire while he was still a child. He has made it his mission to hunt down and kill vampires wherever he finds them.
“Blade” will hit theaters on September 6, 2024.
