Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has new updates as production is set to begin filming in August 2025 in the United Kingdom.
According to insider reports, Peng Zhang will serve as the stunt coordinator for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He previously worked on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Marvel Studios has concept art featuring Daniel Wu as Mr. Negative. While Wu is currently the front-runner for the role, a final decision has yet to be made.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton‘s one condition for taking on the film was to move away from the multiverse plot and instead soft reboot Spider-Man in the MCU. The film will be much more grounded, with a significant emotional depth. The other versions of Spider-Man, who were originally set to appear in the multiverse version of the film, will now make their return in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Recently, Deadline reported that Liza Colón-Zayas (FX’s The Bear) has signed a deal with Marvel Studios and joined Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Her role has not yet been revealed.
Here’s the plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows the events of Avengers: Doomsday. Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With the stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.
Directed by Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film will be the fourth installment of the Spider-Man series. It has a production budget of $200 million.
Sadie Sink has recently joined the cast in an undisclosed role. Additionally, Marvel Studios is casting for three new roles in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Two of these roles are for villains — one male and one female.
During CinemaCon 2025, Cretton said, “I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” he hinted. “We’re all just daily nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
Tom Holland, who reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, said at CinemaCon that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start.
Holland said, “I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Mitch Bell.
Spider-Man 4 will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
