Exclusive: ‘The Newsreader‘ has been renewed for season 3.
According to reports, ‘The Newsreader’ Season 3 is a six-part installment that continues to explore the transformative 1980s era. It features the returning team from Season 2, including director/executive producer Emma Freeman, writer/producer Michael Lucas, writers Niki Aken and Adrian Russell Wills, producer/executive producer Joanna Werner, and executive producer Stuart Menzies.
Season 3 is also written by Christine Bartlett (Five Bedrooms). The show has received significant production support from ABC in partnership with VicScreen, and international sales are managed by eOne.
‘The Newsreader’ has been renewed for Season 3 as part of Screen Australia’s $10 million funding announcement, which supports several projects, including six feature films, two television dramas, and one children’s project.
