Prime Video has released the trailer for the upcoming ‘Fallout‘ TV series, based on the role-playing video game franchise created by Interplay Entertainment and now owned by Bethesda Softworks.

The show is co-created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner and developed by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan through their Kilter Films production company, for Amazon Prime Video. Ella Purnell will play the role of Lucy, a young Vault Dweller, and the primary protagonist. Watch the trailer below.

What is ‘Fallout’ About?

According to the show’s official synopsis, “Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Speaking to Collider, Wagner said, “It’s set in the world of Fallout, but it’s a new story that comes after the events we’ve seen.” Wagner added, ‘The show is built on 25 years of creativity and thinking and building, and we thought the best thing to do was to continue that versus retread it because that’s what has worked with Fallout over the years. It’s traded hands. It’s changed. It’s been altered. It’s a living thing. We felt like we ought to take a swing at trying to build a new piece on top of all of that.”

The cast also includes Aaron Moten as Maximus, a squire of the Brotherhood of Steel, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul / Cooper Howard, a mutated gunslinger and bounty hunter, and Kyle MacLachlan as Hank, Lucy’s father and a Vault Overseer. Other cast members include Xelia Mendes-Jones, Mike Doyle as Mr. Spencer, Moisés Arias as Norm (Lucy’s brother), Johnny Pemberton as Thaddeus, Cherien Dabis as Birdie, Dale Dickey as Ma June, Matty Cardarople as Huey, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson as Wilzig (an enigmatic wanderer), Leslie Uggams, Chris Parnell, Frances Turner, Dave Register as Chet, Zach Cherry, Rodrigo Luzzi as Reg, and Annabel O’Hagan as Steph.

‘Fallout’ will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 12, 2024.
