Marvel Studios’ VP of Production and Development, Nate Moore, said that the upcoming Marvel’s Fantastic Four film would surprise fans. “People are going to be pretty surprised by what we’re doing.” The film is directed by Matt Shakman from a screenplay by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
During the 2023 PGA Awards, Moore spoke with Deadline. when asking about which movie comes first: ‘Fantastic Four’ or ‘X-Men.’ Moore said, “Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four. We have Matt Shakman directing, who’s so talented and who did WandaVision for us, and I think people are going to be pretty surprised by what we’re doing.”
“Fantastic Four” will not be an origin story, according to Marvel President Kevin Feige (Via: THR). Feige said, “A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?” Feige added, “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”
What Is The Plot Of The Upcoming Fantastic Four?
According to the 1960s Fantastic Four comic plot, “In the 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, a brilliant yet diminished scientist named Reed Richards enlists the help of Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm as they embark to space for a scientific breakthrough; only to find themselves in the negative zone, a derelict planet turning into a barren intergalactic hellscape. After a disastrous meeting, the team acquires superhuman powers as they retreat back to Earth. Met with fame and reputation as the world’s greatest heroes, they enforce their newfound abilities to defend Earth from impending doom and adjust to the new reality they are thrust into, until the footprints they left on the Negative Zone, come back to haunt them.”

In Marvel Comics, the Fantastic Four is a team of superheroes, and each member possesses unique powers that make them formidable against villains and other threats. Here’s a list of their powers:
- Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards): Stretching and elasticity. Reed Richards has the ability to contort his body into any shape imaginable, stretch to incredible lengths, and withstand immense physical trauma. His powers make him a valuable asset in battle, as he can use his flexibility and resilience to avoid attacks and launch counterattacks.
- The Invisible Woman (Susan Storm): Invisibility and force fields. - The Human Torch (Johnny Storm): Pyrokinesis and flight. Johnny Storm has the power to generate and control flames at will, as well as fly through the air with incredible speed and agility. His fiery powers make him a formidable offensive weapon and enable him to evade attacks with ease.
- The Thing (Ben Grimm): Superhuman strength and durability. Ben Grimm possesses immense physical power and an almost invulnerable rock-like exterior. His tough exterior makes him nearly impervious to harm, while his superhuman strength allows him to take on even the toughest opponents.
Fantastic Four will hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
