Who Is Namor the Sub-Mariner And His Powers Explained?

Namor the Sub-Mariner is the son of an Atlantean princess named Fen, who was stranded on the surface world and fell in love with a human sailor named Leonard McKenzie. Fen and Leonard had a brief romance before Fen was called back to Atlantis, and she gave birth to Namor soon after. Namor inherited his mother’s Atlantean physiology, including his aquatic abilities and wings on his ankles, but he also has some human traits from his father, such as the ability to breathe air. Namor grew up in Atlantis and eventually became its ruler, but he has also spent time in the surface world and has had many interactions with humans, both friendly and hostile.

Namor’s complicated parentage and dual identity as both a surface-dweller and an Atlantean have often caused him internal conflict and led to clashes with other superheroes. Nevertheless, Namor remains a fascinating and complex character with a rich history in the Marvel universe.
