The first concept art for Sony’s Kraven the Hunter reveals a scrapped “planet of the dead symbiotes.”
On ArtStation, concept artist Jules Darriulat posted an image from a scrapped scene from Kraven the Hunter that shows a dead planet filled with symbiotes. The scene was supposed to be included in the film, but it was scrapped from the movie. Additionally, this might have been another Knull teaser that was cut from the film. See the image below.
In Venom: The Last Dance, Knull, the creator of the symbiotes, destroys their home planet using his dark powers and the All-Black Necrosword. He drains its life, leaving it a dead wasteland because he wants to control the symbiotes and use them as weapons.
After losing his connection, Knull fell into the Abyss. When he woke up, he was on Klyntar, a planet made of symbiotes, which is a “cage.” Even though he was trapped there, Knull stayed focused on his goal to destroy all light in the universe.
It is reported that Knull will be the villain in Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man 4, while Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is officially dead. Kraven: The Hunter will be the final film. Therefore, there is a possibility that Knull could appear in the new Spider-Man movie, as teased in Venom: The Last Dance.
Kraven the Hunter is directed by J.C. Chandor from a screenplay by Richard Wenk, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.
In Kraven the Hunter, Kraven (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is recruited by Calypso (Ariana DeBose) to stop a corrupt magnate named Gregory Herd (Alessandro Nivola) from doing something bad called the Gathering of the Five. Herd hires two people, the Foreigner and the Chameleon (Fred Hechinger), to stop Kraven. Later, Kraven finds out that the Chameleon is his brother, and their father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), is the real villain and Herd’s boss. Calypso also works for Nikolai and tricks Kraven so that Nikolai can sacrifice him. But then Calypso falls in love with Kraven and helps him fight Nikolai.
The digital release date for Kraven the Hunter has been officially confirmed for January 14, 2025.
