The first look at Ian McKellen‘s Magneto in his new suit from Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday has been revealed through merchandise featuring the film’s character costumes.
The image shows Magneto’s suit with red armor and a purple cape; this is an updated look for McKellen’s character from the previous X-Men movies. It is already confirmed in Doomsday. We are getting a classic comic book style for X-Men characters in Earth-10005.
The image was shared by SFX and makeup artist Gi Ponci on her Instagram story, providing fans with the first official look at Doctor Doom, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers, and The New Avengers. The merchandise featured as many as 28 confirmed characters from the film.
During filming, we got leaked information that Avengers: Doomsday features a big battle between McKellen’s Magneto and Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom at the X-Mansion.
Directed by Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.

McKellen as Magneto, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.
