The trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday has revealed a first look at James Marsden’s Cyclops fighting the Sentinels.
The teaser shows, at the end, Marsden’s Cyclops wearing the classic, comic-accurate X-Men suit, looking very emotional and badly injured. It seems that the X-Men in Doomsday aren’t being introduced, as they’re already in survival mode.
Why are the Sentinels Attacking the X-Men?
When Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom takes control of the Sentinels, they begin attacking the X-Mansion and the X-Men. In the leaked trailer, Marsden’s Cyclops removes his visor and unleashes his optic blast against the Sentinels.
We previously reported that Doctor Doom will reportedly be able to control the Sentinels from the X-Men universe through magic runes in Avengers: Doomsday.
In the trailer, Magneto says, “Death comes for us all—that’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t whether you’re prepared to die; the question is who you will be when you close your eyes.”

Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
