The first look at Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge and Andrea Riseborough as the Ghost of Christmas Past on the set of Ti West’s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol was revealed while filming in London.

In the images, Depp is seen wearing heavy makeup and prosthetics, dressed in a blue-and-black coat over pajamas, with salt-and-pepper hair tucked beneath a nightcap, while Riseborough is entirely covered in white makeup and contact lenses, wearing a flowing white dress that gives her a haunting, otherworldly look.

Ebenezer Scrooge is a cold-hearted, penny-pinching old man whose obsession with wealth leaves him isolated and bitter, causing him to despise Christmas and happiness itself.
The character has been a mainstay of holiday cinema for decades, including the classic 1951 adaptation starring Alastair Sim, 1988’s Scrooged with Bill Murray, 1992’s The Muppet Christmas Carol with Michael Caine, and 2009’s A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey.

The film is directed by Ti West from a screenplay by Nathaniel Halpern, based on Charles Dickens’ 1843 novel.
It is described as “a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens’ London, following one man’s supernatural journey to face his past, present, and future as he fights for a second chance at redemption.”
