The first look at Maya Lopez‘s costume in Marvel’s ‘Echo‘ series was revealed at the Choctaw Nation’s annual Powwow in Durant, Oklahoma, on November 3, 2023.
Maya’s costume for the ‘Echo’ series will be traditional Choctaw powwow attire, lovingly crafted by her grandmother. The vest on the right, worn over the left costume, originally belonged to Maya’s mother. Additionally, Maya will receive a new prosthetic leg from her grandpa, which can be seen alongside the costume. See it below.
Marvel recently revealed the first trailer for ‘Echo,’ starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. The ‘Echo’ series mainly focuses on Maya’s life, her family, and her history. Cox’s Daredevil will have a cameo appearance, and D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk has a big role. Disney+ confirmed that Echo follows the events of Hawkeye (2021) in New York City, Maya Lopez returns to her hometown, where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community.
We reported that Marvel Studios is introducing ‘Marvel Spotlight,’ inspired by Marvel Comics, to highlight character-driven street-level stories. The first series in this category will be ‘Echo.’
The first episode will be directed by Sydney Freeland and the rest will be directed by Catriona McKenzie. Marion Dayre serves as the head writer. The show also stars Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene.
Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, and Richie Palmer, along with Dayre and Jason Gavin, are the executive producers, while Freeland serves as a co-executive producer. The series is also produced by 20th Television.
‘Echo’ will have five episodes and is scheduled to premiere on January 10, 2023. You can watch it on Disney+ and Hulu.
