Apple TV+ has revealed the first look at ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,’ a new series based on Godzilla and Titans. The series, consisting of 10 episodes, will premiere on Apple TV+ later this year.
‘Monarch’ shares the universe with movies like Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The series spans three generations, following Godzilla’s battles with Titans that destroyed San Francisco. It tracks two siblings investigating their family’s link to Monarch, a secret organization. Clues lead them to the monster world and to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell) in the 1950s and later, facing threats to Monarch. See the images below.
Chris Black and Matt Fraction co-developed the series, with Matt Shakman directing the first two episodes. All three also serve as executive producers, along with Andy Goddard, Brad Van Arragon, Andrew Colville, Joby Harold, and Tory Tunnell from Safehouse Pictures. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita are executive producers representing Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of Godzilla.
The series also stars Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Anders Holm, Mari Yamamoto, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski.
‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ will premiere on Apple TV+ later this year.
