The first full look at Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom from Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday has been revealed during the Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai, China.
Below, you can see the full look at Doctor Doom’s body armor in promotional art for Avengers: Doomsday, on display at Disney’s 2026 Merchandise Expo in China.
Talking about Joe and Anthony’s inspiration for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars earlier this year, Joe said:
“Well, we always create our own version of the story. So, we use the comics as loose inspiration.”
He continued: “But, you know, I grew up on the original run. That’s something that got me into Marvel comic books. The Hickman run is also fantastic, and they’re very different from each other in a lot of ways, so we’ll draw inspiration from both of them.”
According to reports, an official Avengers: Doomsday light show was showcased at an event in Shanghai. It features Doom in full costume, holding a skeleton during the event. It is actually a direct comic reference drawn from Secret Wars (2015), where Doom brutally kills Thanos by ripping out his skeleton. See the footage below.
Also, the Avengers, Wakanda, Fantastic Four, and X-Men logos were shown at the Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
