In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, revealed that Gen V Season 2 will pave the way for the final season of The Boys. Season 2 begins a few months after The Boys Season 4.
Kripke said that Gen V Season 2 will “carry the torch” between the events of The Boys‘ penultimate and final seasons while also maintaining its identity as a standalone series. (Season 5 will likely arrive sometime in 2026.) “There’s a lot in Gen V that really helps set up the climax of this final confrontation in The Boys,” he added.

Gen V Season 2 takes place several months after The Boys Season 4. Homelander’s takeover of the U.S. government happened around Inauguration Day in January. Godolkin University’s fall semester begins in late August.
The strange facility where Marie woke up in the Season 1 finale is revealed to be the infirmary wing of Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center — a supe prison. She is joined by Emma Meyer (Lizze Broadway), Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh), and Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo).
Gen V Season 2 stars Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Broadway as Emma Meyer/Little Cricket, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Samuel “Sam” Riordan, Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher, and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity.
Recurring cast includes Ethan Slater as Thomas Godolkin. Guest stars feature Chace Crawford as Kevin Moskowitz/The Deep, Valorie Curry as Misty Tucker Gray/Firecracker, Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir II, and Susan Heyward as Jessica “Sage” Bradley/Sister Sage.
Confirmed appearances include Erin Moriarty as Annie January/Starlight, Zach McGowan as Dogknott, Keeya King, Stephen Kalyn, Julia Knope as a human working at Godolkin University, Stacey McGunnigle, Tait Fletcher, Wyatt Dorion, and Georgie Murphy.
Here are the plot details for Gen V Season 2:
As America adjusts to Homelander’s reign, the new dean at Godolkin University introduces a course designed to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are hailed as heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma return to class after months of trauma. War is brewing between humans and supes, and the crew uncovers a secret program from the 1960s that may hold great significance today. Somehow, Marie is at the center of it.
Gen V Season 2 premieres with Episodes 1–3 on September 17. Episode 4 arrives on September 24, Episode 5 on October 1, Episode 6 on October 8, Episode 7 on October 15, and the finale, Episode 8, releases on October 22.
