The official trailer for ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire‘ is out. In this fifth film of the franchise, the Spengler family reunites with the original Ghostbusters at the iconic New York City firehouse. Watch the trailer below.
Directed by Gil Kenan from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jason Reitman, this film serves as the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) and is the fifth installment in the Ghostbusters franchise. The film stars Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler, Logan Kim as Podcast, Celeste O’Connor as Lucky Domingo, Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson, Bill Murray as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond ‘Ray’ Stantz, Ernie Hudson as Dr. Winston Zeddemore, Annie Potts as Janine Melnitz, and William Atherton as Walter Peck, with Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind.
Speaking to Empire in the world-exclusive Frozen Empire issue, Potts said, “It’s a desperate situation, so it’s all hands on deck.” Potts added, “It turns out Janine is quite capable, as most women tend to be when given the chance. By the sounds of it, she’ll be a vital addition to the bench of ‘busters, though Potts didn’t necessarily expect to get in on the action. It came as a real surprise. We were weeks into shooting, and Gil [Kenan, director] came up to me and said, ‘We think it’s time… We’re going to have you suit up.’”
