What is the Plot of Gladiator 2?
Gladiator 2 is set decades after Gladiator (2000) and follows Lucius Verus (Mescal) — the son of Lucilla (Nielsen) and Maximus. After a brutal Roman invasion and the tragic death of his wife, Lucius is forced into a life of slavery. Like Maximus before him, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator in the Colosseum, under the tutelage of Macrinius (Washington) — a former slave who is secretly plotting to overthrow the young emperors, Caracalla (Hechinger) and Geta (Quinn), in hopes of controlling Rome.
