Director Angel Manuel Soto has confirmed that a Green Lantern hit the scarab in the opening sequence of DC’s ‘Blue Beetle‘. Check out the clip below.

Angel Confirms Opening Scene of ‘Blue Beetle (2011)’ Movie Involves Green Lantern’s Attack on Scarab

In an interview with Collider, Angel confirmed that in the opening sequence of the film, the Scarab was attacked/hit by a Green Lantern. This happened in the “Blue Beetle (2011)” comic series, and he also mentioned the film’s intro sequence was drawing inspiration from the comic.

The plot follows: Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero Blue Beetle.

Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, and stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, Bruna Marquezine as Jenny Kord, Belissa Escobedo as Milagros Reyes, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, and Raoul Trujillo as Conrad Carapax/The Indestructible Man.

‘Blue Beetle’ will be available for purchase or rental on Digital HD platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV on September 19, 2023.
