MGM released a new clip from Guy Ritchie‘s The Covenant, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Alexander Ludwig. The film is coming to theaters on April 21, 2023. Watch the clip below.
The film is directed by Guy Ritchie, and it also stars Alexander Ludwig, Antony Starr, Bobby Schofield, Emily Beecham, Jonny Lee Miller, Jason Wong, Sean Sagar, Sina Parvaneh, Cyrus Khodaveisi, and Christian Ochoa.
What Is The Plot of The Covenant?
During the Afghan War, US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) hired Ahmed (Dar Salim) to interpret with local Afghans throughout their mission. Ahmed agrees to seek vengeance against the Taliban for his son’s murder. The soldiers’ platoon gets caught off guard when they meet the Taliban in the desert, and Kinley is knocked down. Ahmed saves Kinley by pulling him over the desert highlands to evade arrest by the Taliban. Kinley then returns to the United States, only to discover that Ahmed is being hunted by the Taliban and is hiding somewhere in Afghanistan. When US officials refuse to respond, Kinley returns to Afghanistan to save his comrade, who sacrificed his life for a complete stranger.
The Covenant will hit theaters in the United States on April 21, 2023.
