Fans of the show ‘Euphoria‘ who are eagerly awaiting updates on the new season, there is unfortunate news to share.
The production on ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 has been indefinitely delayed as Sam Levinson has yet to finish the scripts. However, the actors have been granted permission to pursue other acting opportunities in the meantime, as confirmed by Deadline.
In a statement, the network told Deadline, “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season.” They added, “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
Recently, in an interview with GQ, Sydney Sweeney revealed that filming for the third season will begin in the next two months.
Sweeney said, “People will be really amazed with what season three becomes, and conceding that this season marks a change for the show.” Sweeney added, “I think that’s good because seasons one and two were so different.”
Is there a chance for ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 getting canceled?
As of now, HBO has no plans to cancel the popular show. The filming has been delayed for more than a year. It was initially planned to begin after the SAG-AFTRA strike, but those plans were dropped. Don’t worry, it won’t be canceled.
Back in April 2023, one of the show’s costume designers, Heidi Bivens, said Season 3 may have a 5-year time jump. “There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore.” which means we can see Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Hunter Schafer, and Sweeney in adulthood. According to reports, Zendaya’s deal For Euphoria has been recently renegotiated.
‘Euphoria’ is set in the fictional town of East Highland, California. The series follows a group of high school students as they navigate the trials and tribulations of adolescence, including drug use, sex, and identity issues. The show has earned nine Emmy Awards for its first two seasons, including two for Zendaya, making her the youngest two-time Emmy winner, and one for Colman Domingo.
