The live-action adaptation of ‘How to Train Your Dragon‘ will begin filming this summer.
As per THR, the live-action film is produced by Marc Platt Productions and distributed by Universal Pictures. Dean DeBlois, who directed the How to Train Your Dragon animated film series, is returning to direct the live-action film. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 14, 2025.
The cast details will be revealed soon. DeBlois is also penning the script.
There are three films in the animated series: “How to Train Your Dragon” (2010), “How to Train Your Dragon 2” (2014), and “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” (2019). The film series has been quite successful at the box office. From its three films, it grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide, making it one of the most successful animated film franchises of all time.
The film’s voice cast includes Jay Baruchel as Hiccup, Gerard Butler as Hiccup’s father Stoick, and Cate Blanchett as the dragon rider Valka. The films are produced by DreamWorks Animation.
How to Train Your Dragon live-action will hit theaters on March 14, 2025.
