The VOD release date for ‘I Saw the TV Glow‘ has been revealed.
The film will be available to buy or rent on digital HD platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play Movies & TV on June 14, 2024.
According to A24, the official plot for ‘I Saw the TV Glow’ reads: “Teenager Owen (Justice Smith) is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack. A once-in-a-generation horror from Jane Schoenbrun.”
The film is written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun and stars Smith as Owen, Brigette Lundy-Paine as Maddy, Helena Howard as Isabel, Fred Durst as Frank, Danielle Deadwyler as Brenda, Lindsey Jordan as Tara, Amber Benson as Johnny Link’s mom, Conner O’Malley as Dave, Emma Portner as Mr. Melancholy/Marco/Amanda/Evil Clown, Michael C. Maronna as Neighbor #1, and Danny Tamberelli as Neighbor #2.
The film was produced by Emma Stone, Dave McCary, Ali Herting, Sam Intili, and Sarah Winshall. The production companies involved are Fruit Tree, Smudge Films, Hypnic Jerk, and Access Entertainment.
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 18, 2024. A24 released it in the United States on May 3, 2024, with a nationwide release on May 17, 2024.
