It’s official! Insidious 6 has wrapped production, as confirmed by the film’s official X handle.
On X, @InsidiousMovie shared a photo of the film’s clapperboard and announced the news: “That’s a wrap on the next chapter of Insidious. See you in August!”

Filming started on September 29, 2025, at Docklands Studios Melbourne in Victoria, and after about six weeks of continuous production, it officially wrapped on November 12, 2025.
Directed by Jacob Chase and co-written with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the film is a sequel to Insidious: The Red Door (2023) and the sixth installment in the Insidious film series.
The film stars Brandon Perea, Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier, Amelia Eve, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Sam Spruell, Island Austin, and Laura Gordon.
The Insidious films were created by director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell. The first movie follows the Lambert family, whose son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) falls into a coma after hitting his head. Seeking help, his parents Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Renai (Rose Byrne) contact psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye), who discovers that Dalton can astral project and that his spirit is trapped in a dark realm called The Further. The film’s success led to Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), which explores the Lambert family’s past and their link to The Further. Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) and Insidious: The Last Key (2018) served as prequels centered on Elise’s story, while Insidious: The Red Door (2023) revisits an older Dalton as he faces his lingering childhood trauma.
Produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell, with executive producers Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
Insidious 6 is scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on August 21, 2026, by Sony Pictures Releasing.
