Ira Sachs‘ Passages, starring Franz Rogowski, Adèle Exarchopoulos, and Ben Whishaw, gets a new poster. The story revolves around a long-term male couple, one of whom is having an affair with a woman. Check out the poster below.
The film is directed by Ira Sachs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mauricio Zacharias. The film stars Franz Rogowski as Tomas, Ben Whishaw as Martin, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Agathe, Erwan Kepoa Falé as Ahmad, Olivier Rabourdin, and Caroline Chaniolleau.
The synopsis follows, “In contemporary Paris, German filmmaker Tomas (Franz Rogowski) embraces his sexuality through a torrid love affair with a young woman named Agathe (Adèle Exarchopoulos), an impulse that blurs the lines which define his relationship with his husband, Martin (Ben Whishaw). When Martin begins an extramarital affair of his own, he successfully gains back his husband’s attention while simultaneously unearthing Tomas’ jealousy. Grappling with contradicting emotions, Tomas must either embrace the confines of his marriage or come to terms with the relationship having run its course.”
According to IndieWire Review, Passages is a signature new drama from a director whose best work (“Keep the Lights On,” “Love Is Strange”) is at once both generously tender in its brutality and unsparingly brutal in its tenderness.
Produced by Saïd Ben Saïd, Michel Merkt, Kevin Chneiweiss, Ali Betil, and Hannah Janal.
Ira Sachs’ Passages theatrical release date is not yet announced.
